Fabric Shoppe FQ monthly delivery

Just received the first bundle of fat quarters from The Fabric Shoppe in the states.  Every month you receive a bundle of 12 fat quarters of fabric in one colour.  This month was red for valentines day.  I also received a red Aurifil thread to match the fabric.

What a way to brighten anyone's day to receive such a pretty parcel of fabric goodies.  I can't wait for next months to arrive now.

For details on their offer you can go to their Etsy shop - fabricshoppe.etsy.com or check them out on facebook.com/fabricshoppe

Bye for now.

Green Bean Quilt Finished

Finished at last my green bean quilt, 2.5" inch squares sewn in rows of 5 and I love the scrappy look it brings.  I used a variety of green fabrics some modern and some vintage and even a feed sack fabric as well.  Green was my mothers favourite colour and I think she would of liked this quilt.

The Binding was made using leftover green scraps, and I decided to machine quilt this one myself using a neutral thread and free motion lines, my aim was to give this quilt a soft organic look and once washed its crinkled up lovely.

This will look lovely over my lounge

Love the backing fabric I decided to keep it green as well.

I have added photos of this quilt on Flickr and Pinterest as well.

well onto the next project I'll keep you posted
bye from Biddy.

Projects underway for the year

Well what a busy time its been, getting the kids back to school, the house back in some sort of order and quilting projects sorted and ready to go.

My green bean quilt has finally been quilted, and I am sewing the binding on at last (one of my favourite things to do). Finished photos to follow soon.

I am now whipping up two kiddies quilts using 2 Riley Blake chevron jelly rolls.  one for a boy and one for a girl.  Love how they come together so quickly and look so bright.

Not sure about the layout for the
                                      boys quilt yet.

My favourite Patchwork and Quilting shop is Patchwork on Pittwater.  Robyn and the girls are so friendly and helpful and the range of fabrics is incredible. But the advice and support they offer is the best and they always love to see your finished projects.  The classes are always loads of fun too.  I have included a link and it is well worth a visit if you are ever in Mona Vale.
